Anne-Marie Vedsø Olesen has been compared with authors like Umberto Eco, Anne Rice, Stephen King and George R.R. Martin by the press. She took her degree in Medicine in 1993 from The University of Copenhagen and worked a few years as a medical doctor before becoming a full time author. The author has lived several years in Belgium and USA, and lives now in an ancient castle – Vallø Castle – in Denmark.

Her first novel, Salerno’s Sun was published in 2000 – a story set in the Middle Ages. Salerno’s Sun brought the author a prize in a competition by The Danish Royal Library and the publisher Gyldendal.

Anne-Marie Vedsø Olesen has written 12 novels, won several prizes and been awarded grants by The National Art Foundation. She has also written several short stories and the opera libretto The Orchestra Pit. The opera had its opening night at The Funen Opera (Den Fynske Opera) in 2012.

Her latest series Vølvens vej (The Seer of Midgard) has become a bestselling, award winning succes among readers as well as critics. It is a story inspired by Norse Mythology and set in the Iron Age. It has been called ‘A Nordic Game of Thrones’ by the critics.

Vølvens vej (The Seer of Midgard) is being published digital (eBook and audiobook) in eight languages: English, German, French, Swedish, Finnish, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, and also as a printet book in Germany.
